Environmental liability policy

The undersigned legal representative of the company UNIROCA certifies the company's commitment to sustainable development, ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care, and social well-being. With the aim of minimizing negative impacts and promoting the good management of natural resources within the company's industrial operation, the following practices are implemented:

 

Environmental responsibility:

  1. UNIROCA operates under an Environmental Policy with guidelines and commitments to environmental care, conserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable development.
  2. UNIROCA conducts constant recycling campaigns to give a second life to materials such as plastic, cardboard, folded paper, pulp, metal, among others.
  3. All paper generated by the company is handed over to REPIKA, a company responsible for shredding it and finally disposing of it to the Familia group, which uses it for manufacturing paper for new uses, thus promoting environmental conservation and protection by UNIROCA.
  4. The thread cones used in the clothing and footwear production process are recovered and delivered to REIMAX SAS to be given a second use. Additionally, with the supplier Coast Cadena, a Green Logistics campaign is carried out, returning their brand's cones to the plastic centers plant for reuse, reducing environmental impact and the burden on landfills.
  5. Waste electrical and electronic equipment is delivered to RAEE COLOMBIA S.A.S, a company responsible for its utilization and final disposal, reducing environmental impact and the burden on landfills.
  6. We have an updated matrix of environmental aspects and impacts, in order to identify the most significant impacts and those that should be prioritized for minimization or control.
  7. Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) waste is delivered to Cauchos Corona, a company that grinds it and returns it to UNIROCA for reincorporation into the production process.
  8. 100% of polyurethane (PU) waste is delivered to PSS SOLUCIONES S.A.S, which is responsible for giving it a second use, such as in the creation of rest mats.
  9. We work with suppliers who provide our company with products such as fabrics, 100% recycled cotton threads and 100% recycled polyester from PET bottles, shoe counters, among others, made with recycled or biodegradable materials and that have clean production processes, contributing to sustainability. Some of these suppliers include: FABRICATO S.A, OVETEX, LAFALLETE, GCH Y CIA, CORBETA TEXTILES, among others.
  10. 95% of UNIROCA S.A.'s sewing machinery features technology to reduce and save energy consumption by up to a quarter of usual consumption.
  11. All water faucets for personnel hydration are equipped with water-saving devices to reduce water consumption.
  12. Management of hazardous waste is carried out.
  13. Environmental promotion and education. Climate change adaptation programs.
  14. Measurement of the corporate carbon footprint, with the aim of carrying out communication and awareness activities for the proper use of natural resources and the reduction of greenhouse gas generation.
  15. Environmental indicators are reviewed monthly to evaluate compliance with environmental goals for energy consumption, water, and solid waste generation.

 

Social responsibility:

  • UNIROCA takes action to prevent and eliminate all acts of discrimination.   • Within its facilities, UNIROCA has created a sewing training school, which seeks to develop basic skills and competencies in handling sewing machines, aimed at female heads of household, displaced persons, and migrants who are seeking fair, dignified, and responsible employment, with the aim of ensuring the recruitment of direct labor.
  • UNIROCA, in its commitment to society, is part of the Dame la Mano Foundation, a foundation that seeks to raise the standard of living of low-income communities through various protection, education, nutrition, and training programs. UNIROCA partners with this foundation to donate sewing machines to promote education and community development. 
  • Compliance with the implementation and management of the Occupational Health and Safety System is ensured, meeting minimum standards according to Resolution 0312 of 2019 and everything related to OHS under Decree 1072 of 2015.
  • Fair and equitable treatment of all customers who require UNIROCA's services, regardless of their physical condition, race, religion, cultural ideology, or any other distinguishing situation.
